This past weekend I caught up with one of my homeboys who told me of a new website he is launching with a group of friends. As we were baking in the sun chilling in Harlem, I was learning quite a bit about Soccer and why it has been a hit overseas for decades. This website will be called The New Ultras. Their mantra goes as follows:
The New Ultras is a football project brought to you by a group of eccentric, unfiltered Ultras fueled by trophies and banter.
The purpose of this website is to create a platform where individuals who love Soccer (the real football) wish to share this love to others in a way they can understand. I have to say I love the idea of it because soccer doesn’t get enough coverage and falls to the wayside quite often. The major sports in United States would be Baseball, Football, and Basketball. As the son of a Caribbean man who loved soccer, getting into the sport was my father’s dream. I think this project and this team can help me appreciate this sport. I am committed to partnering with these gents on expanding their audience because I think this is necessary for a sport that is severely underrepresented in America.
